16 Live Sets To Watch During Isolation – Part 4

Brad did Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 of these live sets and I just could not help myself and just rip of his project make a part myself too. Brad’s taste is mostly psychedelic rock, mellow and chill psych tunes (here and there some heavy stuff). I love this stuff and I got to know a couple of bands I have never heard of on his posts and still have a couple of hours listening pleasure on those posts. But I wanted to share some live sets of the heavier stuff too. So, while most of us are in quarantaine, check out these noise rock sets. I really wanted to share Girl Band to start with but seems like Brad is a pretty big fan too and shared it already!

The Jesus Lizard

Lets just start with one of the best noiserock bands there is. This is a video taken in July 14, 2009 with the original lineup—David Yow, Duane Denison, David Wm. Sims, Mac McNeilly. Watch their reunion show at Nashville’s Exit/In.

MELVINS

Can’t really do a list without the Melvins right? The should not be any list without them. JaMINTHEVAN has some incredible sets, be sure to check out more from that channel. now shut up and listen to the Melvins do their thing in 2017.

Daughters

Here is quite possible my favourite noiserock band. The bands latest album “You Won’t Get What You Want” completely blown me to bits and you should watch their set at adult swim’s fishcenter live (2019).

Xiu Xiu

I know, I know, Xiu Xiu is not really noise rock but I am such a fan of this band, their noise, expermental and catchy stuff makes this such a special band. This is a live show that some russians made with here and there an interview in between. Check out “For The Benefit of All Living Beings”

BRUXA MARIA

Bruxa Maria just delivered an incredibly heavy new album this year and I had to include them because they are goddamn impressive. Check out the noise and sludge on the this Live at The Victoria 2019 Set.

Casual Nun

Another one just like Bruxa Maria that has delivered an extraordinary album this year. Combining heavy psych, experimental heaviness and noiserock. This is The Lexington Feb 2020 Resort For Dead Desires Launch Show.

GNOD

Had to search a while for a good show, GNOD is something else, they have this side projects mixing ambient electronics and weird noises but their main project is still one of the heaviest noiserock bands I have ever heard. This is the  IMPATV 146 – GNOD LIVE AT ROCKET RECORDINGS 20 – FULL SET.

Sly & The Family Drone

Fourty minutes of experimental stuff by the jazz/noise collective Sly & The Family Drone. Live at The Dome, London 2018 – FULL SHOW

Boris

Probably not really noise rock either but Boris is awesome, the Japanese doomlords make experimental japanoise and doom. check out their Boiler Room Tokyo Live set

New Primals

you haved to click on ‘watch it on youtube’ because it is the streaming show of the release from the new album by New Primals. This is the album “Horse Girl Energy” LP Release show with Birth Order. clickclickclickstream.

Thurston Moore

I choose the Thurston Moore band and for a change not the Sonic Youth show, I really really like this KEXP live prerfomance, its filled to the brim with energy. Absolutely  watch the whole thing.

Pissed Jeans

Pissed Jeans can only deliver extremly good noiserock and they do it at the Johnny Brenda’s Philadelphia Show too.

METZ

Again, one of the leaders in today’s noiserock scene, check out the performance of Metz on KEXP. Good, insanely good.

Les Rallizes Denudes

Les Rallizes Denudes maybe one of the strangest band on this planet, their is a shroud of mystery around the history of this band, they also make the most incredible music. Check out two of these videos in very bad quality, but hey, it is Les Rallizes Denudes.

  1. A FINE COLLECTION OF MUSICAL SKITS. CERTAINLY ENJOYED THE LIZARD PRESENTATION — IF ONLY FOR THE NOSTALGIA FOR HAPPIER DAZE. THAT BAND USED TO BLOW THE ROARDWALK, MANCHESTER – SAW THEM PLAY THERE A FEW TIMES – NEVER DISAPPOINTED…THERE AINT ANYTHING TO MATCH ONE’S INITIAL FORAYS INTO GIG GOING… SAFE TO SAY I ENJOYED A DECENT MUSICAL EXPLOSION IN MY LATE TEENS/EARLY 20’S… DUNNO IF IT’S TERRIBLE ALL THEDECENT ACTS WERE OR AREAMERICAN… MORE OF THIS KIND OF THING, SIR. ANY EARLY TAD RECORDINGS OR BIG BLACK… HOW ABOUT SOME UK NOISE???
