This year we will get a new Alpha Hopper (wich our dear science man is a member of) and ofcourse the new Science Man (John Toolhill). John is in a lot of other stuff too wich you can check out on his very own label called Swimming Faith Records.
Now Science Man released ‘II’ on November 6 and its a gorgeous fest of punk and noiserock. Fast paced noisy guitar riffs in your face for ten tracks long, sometimes catcy sometimes just brutal. Tune in and buy the Science Man LP.
New York rockers Alpha Hopper have released two LP’s in the past, one of them on guitarist John Toohill’s own Swimming Faith imprint wich you can read about more in here. Alpha Hopper has been on my best of 2019 list too.
Now they have released a new album called ‘Alpha Hex Index’ on Hex Records and with this new album they have scored a piece of gorgeous noisepunk. Their music is wild and energetic filled with great punk riffs and the vocals of Irene give everything an extra kick.
“Alpha Hex Index” is frenzy and both catchy, weird enough to be cool and catchy enough for the average punker. Tune in now and buy the record.

Now Science Man will release ‘II’ on November 6 and has shared two tracks already. The tracks are furious noise and punk energy with a bombastic quality to it, the tracks are really well produced a manage to create a nice tingling sensation in my brain.
This sounds like a promising album. Check out the tracks now and pre-order this.

Alpha Hopper has been on my best of 2019 list too so you can imagine I am pretty stoked to hear more from the band. Now Alpha Hopper released the first track called ‘The Goods’ from their upcoming album on Hex Records wich will be released November 20. Prepare for some juiced op noisy punknhardcore.
All great record labels start small and today I wanted to share the new record label called Swimming Faith. Swimming Faith started in spring of 2019 by John Toohill who released his solo project Science Man (wich he wrote/recorded/mixed/… by himself) as first band on the label. Soon after came the excellent 2nd LP by Alpha Hopper (in wich John plays guitar).
Both very noisy bands and great names to start the label. The biggest question is ofcourse, can we expect new bands on the label soon? I asked John and he has great plans for the label. He is expecting to release a new Night Slaves (where he sings in) lp in early 2020. A MIDNIGHT VEIN 7inch and a BLACK & WHITE CAT / BLACK & WHITE CAKE flexi disc. It is quite clear John is not really the person to sit still. we can expect new stuff where he plays in, solo and side projects on the label and collaborations with other labels and after all that, wich is quite soon, somewhere end of 2020 he will start to bring new bands in.
I can just feel it, I do, this is going to become a great label, a home for a lot of noisy stuff to love.
Check some of the bands that are on the label and some that will end there sooner or later with new music.
Again, because there is so much awesome music, a list of things you need to hear, stuff I missed and still needs to be out there. Enjoy some tunes. This is dump number 16.
BATS
Goddamn good stuff on the new album “Alter Nature” by BATS. Released october 10.
The Denver hardcore/punk/noise band released a track called “Ain’t Right”. And it is awesome, yes it is, It is like drinking ten coffees when you are already wade awake. I love it. Out on Convulse Records.
The Mexican fuzz duo Cardiel consists of Miguel Fraino – Guitar/Vocals and Samantha Ambrosio – Drums/Vocals. But for a band with only two members they are surprisingly loud and not just loud, their music is filled with riffs hooks and even some dub, surf and psych. Their latest EP ‘Aloha from Fuzz’ was released in 2017 and needs to be heard.
These Dutch dudes know how to make a riff. The trio is called Acid Reflux and released a new EP with the same name. It was released June 27. Tune in for same excellent Dutch stonerdoomer.
The French trio Pelegrin makes the most wonderfull cosmic stoner. Their new album is called ‘Al-Mahruqa’ and is released September 13. Their music is multilayered, filled with good riffs and has that gorgeous cosmic vibe.
‘Al-Mahruqa’ is an album that needs to grow on you, you need to give it time. Once it gets you then you are hooked for a long time. Tune in now.
I kind of missed this release by New York’s noisepunk band Alpha Hopper. Really happy to found them because their riff soaked fuzz is really uplifting and energetic. This is an eleven tracks filled album full of fun and frenzy, I kinda would suggest his album to everyone and everyone who does not like this is a loser and doesn’t like music.
