Dorcha release ‘Honey Badger’ on Box Records

I needed some time to begin to listen to Dorcha, I knew this was a special album with a lot of different styles and influences so I wanted to take my time to listen to it with care. And I thought this record would not be for me but I was very wrong. This album is absolutely gorgeous and everything fits so good together.

I feel like this album has three parts. The synth and experimental part, the proggy/heavy spacerock vibe and the indierock. It is amazing how well this all works together. Everything sounds perfectly balanced and the vocals give the whole album an extra level of gorgeousness.

There is just enough experimentalism in this album for the weirdos like me, and not too much for the more boring people.

KLÄMP release ‘Hate You’ on God Unknown Records

KLÄMP is Jason Stöll (Sex Swing, Twin Sister, Mugstar, God Unknown Records, Bonnacons of Doom), Greg Wynne (Manatees) and Lee Vincent (Pulled Apart By Horses, Concentration Champ). And on the new album you can hear Colin Webster (With his amazing Sax on a dozen projects) and Wayne Adams (from the brutal Deafbrick) too . Now Put all these people together and you get something really dirty. Their new album ‘Hate You’  starts of really heavy with the same titles track ‘Hate you’, then you get this aslmost catchy heavyweight ‘Arise’. ‘An Orb’ shows what the band is all about, this is a noisy track full of great guitar work. ‘Big Bad Heart’ is an industrial remix like destructive track, ‘TJ’ is riff feuled energy and epicness and the album ends with ‘No Nerves’ wich got me thinking a bit of Fu Manchu.

This album is a eerie noisy fuzzfest. Absolutely love it.

Shy-Talk (Blóm, Cave Suns, Hermitage, Onlooker, Waskerley Way, Young Liar) release double single

Shy-Talk is a new band, a band made of members of Blóm, Cave Suns, Hermitage, Onlooker, Waskerley Way and Young Liar.

Shy Talk makes refreshing heaviness, a good dose of punk, sludge and riffs and it is filled with raw energy. I am not really a writer so mostly I just write down some dumb shit here about how the music sounds like a crashing airplaine full of wobats or something. I am not going to do this today, today I am just going to say I really like this music, and that I am grateful and happy that it is not only one track but two.

Their double A-Side single ‘Chauvinism / Didn’t The Do Well’ is out now. ‘Chauvinism’ is fast paced fun and ‘Didn’ the Do Well’ is slower heaviness, the kind that hits you right between the eyes.

Their sound is strong, their vibe is awesome, their looks are cool, be like Shy-Talk.

Out on the great Box-records!

Sonic Wizardry and Wild Punk on the new BLÓM

I have listened to ‘Flower Violence’ too much now, my blood has changed in to some kind of pink slime blocking everything so that my brainfluid is turning to muck.

I procrastinated this review because I wanted it to be perfect but now the album is here and I have to write it. It has been since the release of Daughters latest album and the new one from Girl band that I felt so much energy in a record. This music is my spirit fuel, on this I can just keep going and going, does not matter if I go nowhere. I knew it would come today and I was excited and could not sleep last night so I drank half a bottle of rum with some sleeping pills and it worked, I fell asleep!!!! And I dreamt, I dreamt about this sonic wizard, looking a bit like that wizard from Lord of the Rings, and he was yelling at me while swinging his magic stick (I know, dreams can be weird) and declaring: “You Shalt Nouth Pass Unthill you Boughte the new LP from thy best band BLÓM”. In the morning I woke up with earwax all over my pillow and sheets, clearly had an eargasm again.

Do you want to me to give this stars and points? I give it five fucking stars and a 10. Thats it, this is Sublime Noisepunk. Out on Box Records.

Track of the week: “Meat” by Blóm

It is amazing! Its is idontknowanymorewhatday day of the quarantaine and I am still alive. Good People, this bag of organs and badly stiched together skin and bones woke up this morning feeling just fine, yes, fine. And I put on my morning tea (with a bit of lemon) happily checkin the news how many dead where in my city now. And then, Pop!, a pop up! “Single Drops Tommorow” it reads, this is coming from the facebook by the Newcastle upon Tyne noisepunk band Blóm. They will release their new album “Flower Violence” on the amazing Box Records soon. The first single “Be Kind” is already released and is quite incredible people. Now we get the second wich is called “Meat”. For me it is quite clear, Blóm truly rules, they absolutely own their original heavy sound, they are fast and ferocious. Their new track “Meat” is again in your face, beautifull riffs, angriness and fun dripping from my headphones,  This is the kind of band I really love and that i recommend to everyone (then everyone looks really strange at me and walks away because they like justin bieber probably). Out May 1 On Box Records. Be Amazing Listen to Amazing.

Casual Nun release “Resort For Dead Desires”

I had heard a couple of singles from this album before the release and was getting really excited. But now I am really amazed! This four headed beast of a band made an incredible album. The first track “Party Favors” starts with a fucking Saxophone like they make the most chill music ever, but they don’t, the track slowly gets into noise territory until it blows your face away. “Zoetrope” is a track full of heavy bone shattering riffs, “PCH” is bleak psych and I am not going to walk through every song because that is just boring when you can listen to them. “Resort For Dead Desires” is heavy, really heavy and it is not only noiserock, there is psych, punk in it and whatever and maybe the coolest thing about this album is that every song is very different wich makes this album a pleasure to listen to again and again. This album is released on Hominid Sounds and needs to be in your collection. The album is released together with the digital only single containing the edited version of “A Light Plague” and the full unedited version of “Φυλαχτό”. Both tracks feature on the new LP Resort For Dead Desires in different forms. Order the Resort For Dead Desires T-Shirt and get this digi single free. This album is going to be with ease one of the best of the year. An absolute blast! Tune in now for some Casual Nun.

Amazing noise on the new BLÓM

BLÓM is amazing, they have released some pretty cool stuff in the past, their music is extremely frenzy, fast paced and wild, it feels refreshing and is like a slap in the face by a hippopotamus. They have already a split out with the amazing Thank on Hominid and a in 2018 they released their 2 track debut. NOW, and I am really excited for this, the band will release their full album on Box Records on May 1. The Album will be called “Flower Violence” and they have shared a first track from it. It is called “Be Kind” and it is everything I hoped it would sound like, In between the high paced noise rock there are a lot of heavy psychedelic vibes too, The vocals are really cool and make the track even more jumpy.  I am going to copy some stuff from on their bandcamp page too because they can say it better: read it and listen to their amazing first track. Fuck yeah, It is BLÓM.

“The debut album ‘Flower Violence’ is a succinct introduction to Blóm. It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Sam Grant at Blank Studios – Summer 2019.
Lyrically the album explores themes of queerness, feminism, gender identity, mental health, socio economic challenges, christianity, Twin Peaks and the Fyodor Dostoyevsky novel ‘Crime and Punishment’. The latter theme is covered in – Übermensch, listed as two tracks on the album, which for the most part, was structured in the studio.
Open to improvisation, with fluidity, is how live performances are approached, often playing a continuous set with pieces merging into each other without any interruption. ‘Songs’ will develop once they have been played live to an audience, and are always open to change. This is how Übermensch in particular was approached during the recording. The improvised nature of the track adds to the feeling of unrest and uncertainty.”

New album by Casual Nun is almost there

On March 17 we get “Resort for Dead Bodies”, the new album by Casual Nun. Their are already a couple of tracks out that I have not shared yet and it is again proof that this band can make loud music in different styles and it all still fits perfectly together. “A Light Plague” is a heavy riffing noiserock track, “Φυλαχτό” is gorgeous heavy psych, “Pink Celestial Heron” goes towards bleak psych and brooding doom and “Party Favor” is just a very cool track. “Resort For Dead Bodies” is going to be awesome. Listen to all these tracks now. Soon out on Hominid Sounds.

Luminous Bodies release “Nah Nah Nah Yeh Yeh Yeh”

I am a complainer, I like to complain and nag and certainly when I am sick. Well, I had the flu and it really sucked you know, I was like four days in bed, I could not eat Pizza nor Pitta, could not drink (only if i forced myself i could drink that tasteless clear fluid), could barely walk around and you know, I am a man so it sucks even more. Afterwards I got a stomach bug and had the terrible shits. The only positive thing about this whole irritating illness is I could listen to as much Luminous Bodies I wanted. So I am really happy they finally released it so now I can get on with my life. I heard their album “Nah Nah Nah Yeh Yeh Yeh” mostly on the toilet and I found out the acoustics in that place is really good. Luminous Bodies (Terminal Cheesecake, Part Chimp, We Wild Blood, MGF, Melting Hand and Gum Takes Tooth) rocks really loud and good and they deserve a special place in your heart. Out on Box Records since February 7.

Favourite track: Fuck The Beatles

Casual Nun share two tracks from upcoming album

Now this is album I am very much looking forward too. Casual Nun are four dudes from England who make loud fucking music, something between punk, noiserock and in your face rocknroll. Their new LP will be called “Resort For Dead Desires” and will be release on box records as well as Hominid Sounds. There are two tracks out. One is in your face heaviness and the other high sorcery space rock. There are only a couple of reason why some people might not like ths music:

  • They are deaf
  • They have explosive diarhea and they can’t leave the toilet
  • They wear crocs

Second track from upcoming album by Luminous Bodies

“Nah Nah Nah Yeh Yeh Yeh” is the upcoming album by supergroup Luminous Bodies (Terminal Cheesecake, Part Chimp, We Wild Blood, MGF, Melting Hand and Gum Takes Tooth). The album will be released on Box Records on February 7.

We already got the first track “Choices” and now we get the second track “Hey You”. This track sounds like as if a hurricane picked up members of Terminal Cheesecake, Part Chimp, We Wild Blood, MGF, Melting Hand, Gum Takes Tooth and dropped them in a rehearsel space and then they made this track. I especially like the beginning of the  track, the middle and the end.

KLÄMP release new album

These three are former members of Mugstar, Manatees and Geisha and together they form KLÄMP.  Their new self titled album is out and is filled with fuzzed out heavy rock. A bit of psych and noise here and there makes this a pretty fun listen. There are some catchy rocknroll track on there but some really chaotic noiserock tracks too. KLÄMP new self titled album is a fun listen, their music balances perfectly between listenable heavy rock and unlistenalbe noise (wich is a good thing). Listen for yourself. Out on Box Records.

KLÄMP to release self titled on Box Records

These three are former members of Mugstar, Manatees and Geisha and together they form KLÄMP. They will release their upcoming self titled album on Box Records on October 10.

The first track ‘Shoes’ is out and is real good. On ‘Shoes’ we hear very heavy fuzzed out psych rock with a lot of noiserock influences. This is the start of something really good. For fans of the fuzzy riff.

Terminal Cheesecake release ‘Le Sacre Du Lièvre’

On ‘Le Sacre Du Lièvre’ Terminal Cheesecake shows that they can sonically destroy everything in a 10 mile radius with ease. Their new album is a brutal mix of noise rock, psych and industrial agressiveness. The way they combine all these different elements makes their music truly original, there aren’t a lot of psychedelic noiserock bands and Terminal Cheesecake nailed it with this album.

So their new album is released May 10 on Box records and is an absolute recommendation for the psych/noise addict.
