Album of the week: Progrockers Birth

What excellent trippy music is this, I see space, I see Mellotrons in space, I see strange alien fish riding those Mellotrons right into black holes while birthing rainbows.

This is Birth, The Californian band with three seven minute tracks of prog and space rock. Excellent stuff by a new band thats pushing progrock to a comeback. This is both music for old humans as fresh ones, for families and singles, depressed ones and happy hippies. The album is out on Bad Omen Records.

Monolord release ‘No Comfort’

The previous album ‘Rust’ from the Swedish stonerdoom band Monolord was right in the feels for me, A perfect balance between stoner and doom, heaviness and slow crushing riffs. Now the new album ‘No Comfort has arrived and it is a gorgeous piece of epic doom. The music is slow and brooding and filled with epic riffs and vocals that fit perfectly on the fuzzed out riffs. In times sounding like a slowed down and heavy Black Sabbath.

‘No Comfort’ is out on Relapse records and is a must hear for every doom and stoner fan.

Monolord share second track from ‘No Comfort’

The previous album ‘Rust’ from the Swedish stonerdoom band Monolord was right in the feels for me, A perfect balance between stoner and doom, heaviness and slow crushing riffs. The band has already shared their first track ‘The Bastard Son’. Now we get the second track and video called ‘The Last Leaf’. With these two tracks it is clear the band is ready to produce yet again a fantastic record.

Monolord is back

After the incredibly heavy stonerdoom album ‘Rust’ from September 2017 we get the new track ‘The Bastard Son’ from the upcoming album ‘No Comfort’ by the Swedish heavyweight Monolord.

Qujaku release video for “Yui, Hate No Romance”

I have become quite a Qujaku nerd this year. I am a big fan and i will not hide it. The Japanese band released their full length this year and it is even more gorgeous then I hoped it would be. With a unique mix of doom, noise rock and psych the Japanese band are one of my favorite acts in a long time.

They released a new video for the track “Yui, Hate No Romance”.  Check out there new vid here.

Next to their original sound and complex music Qujaku has a very strong live act, so if you got the chance you got the see them live. While you’re here, check out  the track “Shoku No hakume”.

The video “Mei” is from their previous EP and one of my favorite tracks of the band. The tension on the track is beyond.

A while ago you could buy the LP on Norman records but it’s sold out at the moment. If there will be more you will need to by this.
