Gnod returns to save us

Gnod came to me somewhere in 2017, in a dream telling me to start this website and that I would not be disappointed and look, now I have the most popular website just under google. I am just waiting for the promised happiness and money but I know I should trust and believe and have patience. Gnod has brought us a lot of his wisdom in te form of brutal noiserock, experimental electronics, heavy psych and weirdo stuff.

And to compensate for floods, the virus, ska music, hunger, right wing turds, tornados and the likes Gnod comes down again with a spectacular new gift called ‘La Mort Du Sens’. This gift will be presented to us in full on November 5 this year and to still our hunger we get the first sounds and it is called ‘Pink Champagne Blues’. It will be released through Rocket Recordings.

Get thyself ready for destructive, industrial and fast paced noiserock on this first track!

There is only one Gnod!

GNOD release ‘Easy To Build, Hard To Destroy’

Gnod is one of my favourite bands ever and is actually one of the reasons why I started this website. Gnod is one of the very few bands that incorporate all off the things I love in music, the band makes the most hypnotic psychedelic music possible but can make the most destructive noiserock ever (Donovon’s Daughters is extremely good) and all the while this band keeps experimenting with sounds, genres and atmospheres. The band and members of the band have a lot of side project and all of them are really in interesting in one way or the other. Check out the one with White Hills wivh absolute gorgeous drone/psych. But they have a crapload of experimental and collaborations releases too. I think you get the picture. Now more important is the release of ‘Easy To Build, Hard To Destroy’ which is tricky-to-find, obscure and unreleased material from the heady early days of the band. All hail Gnod!

GNOD to release rare and unreleased tracks album ‘Easy To Build, Hard To Destroy’

I made this website because I love Psychedelic rock and Noiserock and now and then their are bands that use both genres in their music and Gnod is one of them. Their latest album ‘Chapel Perilous’ is bone crushing noiserock but they have released excellent psych too, like the one with White Hills is absolute gorgeous drone/psych. But they have a crapload of experimental and collaborations releases too. I think you get the picture. Now more important is the release of ‘Easy To Build, Hard To Destroy’ is on preorder today and we det a first unreleased track called ‘They Live’ wich is excellent hypnotic psych.

GNOD & João Pais Filipe

I have been a big worshipper of Gnod for a long time now, and It is not only the bonecrushing noiserock that our Gnod sometimes produces but I love Gnod for their experimentalism, their search for the divine sound in noise, ambient, tribal rythms, industrial and what not. Not every release is as easy as the other but now I can feel the hand of Gnod touching me with this new release. This sounds trancelike. They have collaborated with Jesus, eu, I mean João Pais Filipe to make this gorgeous new record called ‘Faca De Fogo’ wich is already sold out :(.

GNOD R&D VOL. 4

The alternative version, the research and development wing of GNOD consists of co-founders Paddy Shine and Chris Haslam. Again a sonic experiment with 2 tracks that are 20 minutes each with sounds that range from weird to eerie to psychedelic. Its not only weirdness though, you can find some heavy beats and agressive industrial sounds in there. So, yeah, check it out, It is Gnod

I asked my girlfriend (who hates noiserock and psych) to review this band, this is what she says: ‘What the hell is this? these are just factory noises, turn that off and do something with your life’.

God Unknown Records: Sneers and Rainbow Grave

I think i may have found my favorite label. Every release the God Unknown Label does is exellent and needs listening and buying. The label is filled to the brim with original noisy psych/experimental stuff. Check out their latest bands.
Rainbow Grave is one of those bands i discovered through God Unknown and God are they good. Slow sludgy riffs, distorted noises and and caveman vocals. The band featuring Nic Bullen (Napalm Death / Scorn), Johnny Doom (Doom), Nathan Warner (Bee Stung Lips) and James Commander is something every fan of the heavy should listen to and listen loud. The 7″ will be out October 5.

Album review of the new GNOD: Chapel Perilous

Last year in March Manchester’s rock collective Gnod released their powerful noiserock album ‘JUST SAY NO TO THE PSYCHO RIGHT-WING CAPITALIST FASCIST INDUSTRIAL DEATH MACHINE’. Now, more than a year later, Gnod is back – and how! The band returns with ‘Chapel Perilous’, which will be released on May 4 on Rocket Recordings.
The opening track is called ‘Donovan’s Daughters’. This sonic beast of a track lasts 15 minutes. Hitting off with repetitive drums and bass lines, this track slowly evolves into a monster filled with anger and noise. The characteristically nasty vocals soon join in. The track builds up and grows stronger and darker every minute, ending in an apotheosis of brutal noise and screaming vocals. Exactly what we hoped for. The second track, ‘Europa’, starts off with that same ominous atmosphere you can feel throughout album. A track that slows down the pace and leaves you aching for more. ‘Voice From Nowhere’ pushes you even deeper. When the tribal drums die out, the next track, ‘A Body’, hits the listener with low, slow, rumbling noises from some unearthly abyss. Any attempt to escape is futile.
And then comes the inevitable wake-up call. The following track, ‘Uncle Frank Says Turn It Down’, brings the heavy riffs and tormented yelling we by now freakishly love and cherish. Gnod bids you farewell with ‘Chapel Perilous’, a vicious but welcomed blow to the nuts. This album is a kick in the face, a sonic attack, an album that leaves you exhausted.
