The Australian heavy psych band Pseudo Mind Hive are back. Ther previous debut album “Off Seers and Sirens” was a gorgeous heavy psych alvum and on their new album “Volume III” their sound is really good produced and his this occult heavy psych sound, solos flying everywhere, distorted vocals and most off all, , catchy riffs. You can find Pseudo Mind Hive on “The Australian List”
These are some long and heavy psychedelic jams that get you in a trance real fast. Heavy Relic their album ‘The Apparition of The Great Cabala’ is out since January One and is trippy as hell. High quality heavy psych for us to enjoy.
It is a real shame the 7″ by the new swedish band GÅS is sold out because it is a true beauty of vintage heavy psych. Their music is released on Rocket Recordings since October 30.
The good news is that you can listen to the two tracks. Tune in now and enjoy some absolutely gorgeous Psych.
Quebec rockers Population II released their new album on Castle Face Records (the label from John Dwyer from Thee Oh Sees). The album is named ‘À la Ô Terre’ and I think this one may be one of my favourite psychedelic rock albums of the year (together with Fuzz, Osees and a couple others maybe).
The combination of softer trippy tracks and heavy fuzz is gorgeous, each track is highly hypnotic and original. Population II brings a new breath to psychedelic rock in my opinion.
gorgeous basslines, trippy synths, dreamy vocals and such good fuzz! Tune in now and take your time!
Quebec rockers Population II are going to release an album on Castle Face Records (the label from John Dwyer from Thee Oh Sees). Their first track ‘Instrospection’ is already out now and is quite impressive, this is fuzz fueled heavy psych of great quality.
The band will release their full album ‘À la Ô Terre’ on October 30 and I for one am very much looking forward to hear more of this gorgeous fuzz.
Now the second track is out and is again very impressive, the track is called ‘Il eut un Silence dans le Ciel’ and is really trippy, the band plays with hypnotic kraut and balances between easy psych and heavy psych.

Now and then Rocket Recordings hits the perfect spot for me and they did exactly that with this Swedish band that I never heard of before. GÅS will release their 7″ on October 30 on Rocket Recordings. The track that is up for a listen is called ‘Epitaph’ and is gorgeous heavy psych with a vintage feel. A truly remarkable track with gorgeous vocals. Check it out now.
The Weedian series are compilation albums that are released on Blues Funeral Recordings. Filled with the latest offerings from all the great stoner, doom and Heavy psych. These comps are great way to hear some great new heavy stuff with a focus on stoner doom. Listen to part four and get to know some great new bands.
Mummise Gunes is made of members of Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, Terminal Cheesecake, Luminous Bodies, Casual Nun, GHOLD, Black Shape, and Michael and all of these bands have been featured on this little website and most of them are on one or another end of the year list.
I really expected a lot from this band, you know, it is filled with members of all these other great bands so the bar was high. And they filled those expectations! Their self titled album is a magnificent piece of work. All these different (heavy) styles come together and I though it would create something ‘normal’ but what we get is a wild ride full of unexpected turns. The album starts with ‘Flattenend Earth’ wich is wild rocknroll but then ‘Glitter Balls’ is this gloomy noisy doom track. The fun with this album is that it has a bit of everything in it, wich makes it a varied and fun listen. Like ‘Forever Triggered Forever’ is this riff feuled bone crushing track and ‘Bipolar Brain Transmitter’ is this chaotic noise/spacerock track. On ‘Dog Cocked’ I get some White Zombie vibes and ‘End of Days’ is the perfect fast paces noisrock track to finish this awesome piece of work.
Mummise Guns doses you with controlled choas, wild unfermented noiserock, evil spacerock and Swamp Sludge. This album is clearly for the cool people, the question is: are you cool enough?
This is a record that I look forward too!
The band has already released the first track ‘Flattened Earth’ and I was really happy that I could premiere the video for that track. The track is made of awesome riffs, a heavy rocknroll track that feels like a kick in the ribs.
Now the new track is called ‘Glitter Balls’ and it makes me truly happy that it is a completely different track, it immediatly shows that the band can do magic stuff with loud music. The new track is trippy, feels like angry aliens that are cruisin with their spaceship through the cosmos.
They will release the full album July 17th on Riot Season Records.
Time for you to listen to Mummise Guns.
Today is a good day, today there is a lot of awesome music released and I shared it and though, fuck this is nice. Then I got this message that asked if I wanted to share the new video from the track ‘Flattened Earth’ that was released a couple days ago. For those who have missed it: Mummise Gun is made of members of Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, Terminal Cheesecake, Luminous Bodies, Casual Nun, GHOLD, Black Shape, and Michael and all of these bands have been featured on this little website and most of them are on one or another end of the year list.
By now I listened a ridiculous amount of times to this track and I know this will be one of the most rocknroll albums of the year. Mummise Guns has riffs, punk, unfermented energy and psych in it. It has got it all! There is some wild chaos in there music, something that sounds untamed and feral.
This is the first track of the album that is released and I am extremely excited to hear more from this band. They will release the full album July 17th on Riot Season Records.
Shut yer traps, open a beer, and go nuts on the new Mummise Guns!
On June 19th, Leeds band Raw Optics will release their second album “Space Is The Race” on all platforms. Much like their first album, you can expect a lot of raw, heavy psych. Check out the ripper of a single they released below as well as their first album “DOOM”.
Elder has released some incredible stuff over the years, but lately they seem too experiment with their sound. “The Gold and Silver Sessions” was an album that was more psychedelic wich fitted more on Fuzzy Sun than this new thing but I still prefer the heavy riffed doomlike Elder from long ago. Now, normally I am a big fan of experimenting and changing sounds but this is all wrong for me. I expect heaviness from Elder, I expect high psychedelia with riffs and strong vocals. But on this new album ‘Omens’ everything of the good stuff is gone, I can’t seem to find a good riff, the vocals are really weak. They seem to have changed in a bad progmetal band. I see a lot of praise for this album around the web so I am glad lots of people like it but this is not the Elder I want.
Slift has clearly taken inspiration from one of the best books in existence for their new album. The album is called “Ummon” wich was some big AI god if I rememer correctly. But more imprtantly, Their album is out and is 11 tracks of epic and glorious spacerock. Heavy frikkn riffs with psychedelic guitar work make this one hell of an album. Their previous album “La Planète Inexplorée” was really good but it seems the band has pushed themselves and put out their best work so far. This is strong, heavy and psychedelic. Tune in now to hear this wall of psych sound.
I think by now everyone agrees that the four piece band Elder is a very versatile and talented band. They have released a lot of different heaviness, some of their music Heavy psych, stoner, psychedelic rock and it seems that we get something completely different yet again. After their previous, very psychedelic, “The Gold and Silver Sessions” it is time for their new album “Omens” wich will be out April 24. The first track is more then ten minutes long and is called “Embers”. Tune in to here the progressive hard rock tunes.
The second track by the French psychrockers is again a raging spacerock song full of heavypsych riffs wild unfermented solos and catchy hooks. The track is called “Hyperion”. The name is taken from my favourite scifi/fantasy book “Hyperion” from Dan Simmons. Their First track was called “Ummon” wich reffers to an AI god in the Hyperion Cantos. Their full album will be out February 28th 2020 on Stolen Body Records.
The French spacerockers Slift have been releasing incredible music for a while now. From heavy psych to space rock and all that is trippy. In 2017 they released their debut album ‘Space is the Key’ wich put them instantly on the map. In 2018 they have given us the album ‘La Planète Inexplorée’ and soon after came 3 unreleased demos “2016 : Spacetrip For Everyone”. And now they are back and they have shared a new song called “Ummon” (wich if i remember correctly was an AI god from the technocore in the Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmons, wich is my favourite fantasy/scifi book).
The track is taken from the upcoming album “Ummon” wich will be released February 28th 2020 on Stolen Body Records.
