Noiserock and heavy psychedelic music
Necio Records was established in 2013 and deals in prog , psych, Stoner, doom, jazz, experimental and noise. The Peruvian label has built up quite an interesting catalogue over the years aand now comes the Peruvian band Satánicos Marihuanos with their new album ‘Inmerso en el Ande’ wich is a gorgeous mix of heavy psych, doom and space rock. Belgian experimentalists Neptunian Maximalism reurn after their 2020 album ‘Éons’ wich fused mysticism, drone, Jazz and experimental tunes. That album was a gorgeous piece of experimental drone and metal so I am glad they are now back, and with a new excerpt called ‘Solar Drone Ceremony’ wich is taken from the upcoming album with the same name. The beast will be released on I, Voidhanger records on April 23.
Epic solos, funk, progrock, vintage sounds and goddamn jazz all mixed together in the absolutely awesome debut album of Mexican band Rostro Del Sol. The biggest problem with bands like this is that it is just a bit all to much, but not with Rostro Del Sol, they have succeeded in makin a epic prog album that has both heavy riffs in it and soothing jazz ssssounds. This is very trippy and fun stuff to listen too.
The Portuguese duo consisting of drummer João Pais Filipe and Sax player Julius Gabriel released their self titled Rocket Recordings in 2019 and now they are back with a new album called ‘Unconscious Death Wishes’
The track ‘Unconscious Death Wishes’ is 40 minutes long and is a slow builder, starting with a eerie atmospere and soon the drums and sax come in the create a hypnotic and psychedelic vibe. The album is released on Rocket Recordings and is a beautifull work. Tune in now
The Portuguese duo consisting of drummer João Pais Filipe and Sax player Julius Gabriel released their self titled Rocket Recordings in 2019 and now they are back with new music.
We get an excerpt from the track ‘Unconscious Death Wishes’ wich is taken from the upcomiong album with the same title. The albulm will be released on Rocket Recordings. The track is less jazzy and more tribal space rock, it is really trippy and I am pleasantly surprised, this is even more my thing. Tune in now.
This is quite something. This album by Belgian experimentalists is called ‘Éons’ and on it they fuse mysticism, drone, Jazz and experimental tunes. The whole has a oriental mystical vibe around it and sounds eerie and dark. Each of these 16 tracks is a world on their own, weird and special. The is such a long album that it makes everything even better, I feel like an explorer finding something strange and mystical around each corner.
A truly fascinating listen from start to finish, take your time and enter ther world of Neptunian Maximalism.
‘If You’ve Got A Hamer’ is the upcoming album by Coach Campa wich will be released on Already Dead Tapes on July 10. The first track ‘Don’t Be Sorry, Just be Safe’ is out and is pretty damn cool. something between noiserock, grindcore and free jazz. in your face coolness. It is going to be released on tape wich will shine in your collection.

OZO, the band with members of Bong, Ballpeen, Vanishing, 11Paranoias, Drunk In Hell, Lush Worker and Blown Out is back with a new album. Their previous album ‘Saturn’ was not long ago released on Riot Season and now they return with ‘Pluto’ on Drone Rock Records. On this album they are more psychedelic then ever and more brutal too. ‘Pluto’ is gorgeous and wild.

I did a post on the underground Austria music label Epileptic Media a while back. The bands on that label range from cosmic experimentalism to Brutal Harsh Noise. Now there is a new album out and ofcourse, what would you expect, it is again something very experimental. Mozo Mozo are some sort of cosmic jazznoise ensemble. Their self-titled is 5 songs long but each track almost 15 minutes in length. Again gorgeous artwork too! I can only say: brace yourself and listen to Mozo Mozo.

I love long titles and I love Skeletonized so you can imagine my joy when I heard there was going to be a collaborative album between the Pennsylvania experimental noisejazz band Skeletonized and the Pennsylvania experimental trio How Things Are Made. The album starts of great with some eerie wild sax and ambient stuff on the background instantly setting the vibe for this album. On the rest of the album we can hear that these two bands are pretty damn serieus about it, heavy drums, repetitive sax and experiments creat the most eerie weird jazz vibe ever and i love it. OZO is formed from the ashes of Drunk In Hell and Blown Out, Graham Thompson (Ballpeen), Karl D Silva (Drunk In Hell) and Mike Vest (Drunk In Hell, BONG, 11Paranoias, Melting Hand). Their brand new album “Saturn” will be released February 3 on Riot Season Records. The first shared track is called “Saturn” and is 12 minutes of blazing wild jazz with heavy drumming and a lot of trippiness.

It is time to listen to Automatism. The Stockholm based band with members of the great Kungens Män released ‘Into The Sea’ in July and one track called ‘Sonar’ from a split with Pavallion on Tonzonen Records.
‘Into The Sea’ contains new arrangements of two songs from the debut album, plus the Alice Coltrane song Journey in Satchidananda, and a new track called Sparkler. An album full of relaxing psych tunesand jazzy atmosphere.
‘Sonar’ was released September 27 that was recorded as a really long improvised session with Per Wiberg on keys (Kamchatka, Spiritual Beggars, ex Opeth and more). Henrik Palm (solo artist, Pig Eyes, ex In Solitude and more) did extra guitar work on the track.

Without fail they release albums from great bands ranging from psych to jazz to experimental music. So here is their summer sampler. The jazz/noise/drone band Sly & The Family Drone return with a new album called ‘Gentle Persuaders’. In the past the band has made some absolutely gorgeous records sometimes with Dead Neanderthals or with Colin Webster but now ‘ Gentle Persuaders’ is made by Sly & The Family Drone alone and I am happy it is because the band show what they are capable of.
The 15 minute opening track ‘Heaven’s Gate Dog Agility ‘ has some epic sounds that instantly travels my mind to some dark fantasy world where there are two evil races that are about to start some brutal war.
The music on this record evokes an atmosphere for the listener, it creates a dreamworld. ‘Gentle Persuaders’ is in my opinion their best work yet. The album was released April 26 on Love Love Records.

Aha, very important update here. Maybe most of you will already now this but this is new for me. There is a monthly broadcast on NTS called Black Impulse.
This is done by Heather (Heaty) and Kevin (Philly) and sometimes guests. They play a gorgeous mix of metal, noise, gutter garage, trash blues, prog, hardcore, hip-hop, free jazz and anything else.
I am slowly getting through their shows and they are playing real good stuff. So bookmark them, check out their shows. They broadcast once a month on Saturday from 10 till midnight .

I will pick a couple of bands on the label that are quite original. And I will start with the first release on the label by the band Papa Nui. I can’t seem to find a lot of info on this duo but the two tracks that are released in 2015 are pretty cool. The very long tracks feature wild saxophone, and riffs with a high heavy psych vibe. Check out ‘Rigal Kentaur’ here.
Next up is the magnificent space rock by ‘Spatial Moods’ wich is a four piece band from Lima. they released their S/T album in 2017 and is one hell of a trip. cannot recommend enough. Check out an interview they did with Do you even psychedelic?.
The Terrorist Collective is a trio that has a couple of releases on Necio records as well and they have a very interesting sound, they can go from noise to trippy psychedelia.
Necio Records is not only spacerock and with the following band that becomes clear, Dumo is an experimental noise/jazz trio and in 2016 they released ‘Auri Sacra Fames’ wich is hard to describe so you better listen for yourself.
El Jefazo is the first band we come across on Necio Records that leans to fuzzed out stoner. They released their S/T in 2016.
Acestro is a band covered on Fuzzy Sun before. They make these slow cosmic riffs and each release is a good one. This one is called ‘El regreso de los brujos’ and was released in 2016.
Now we go full Peruvian doom with Satánicos Marihuanos, but it is not only doom, they can shift eaily to psych.
And ofcourse, quite fitting in this label we come across the 20th release on Necio Records, Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. with ‘Either The Fragmented Body Or The Reconstituted Soul’. The band that never quits releasing psychedelic trippy stuff, and on this release they do not dissapoint either.
The Slow Voyage released their album ‘Time Lapse’ in 2018 and uses a fine blend of garagerock and psychedelic rock. One hell of an album that needs to be turned on loud.
Familia De Lobos is a band that made quit a ripple with their S/T album.
Rito Verdugo is 4 piece Heavy psych band that just thrashes all the way. ‘Cosmos’ was recorded live in 2018.
Los Acidos is the last band i am going to share here, so by now you will have an idea what kind of music you can expect from Necio Records, I suggest you follow them and check out many more of their releases. A lmagical label filled with trippy goods and cosmic vibes.
