Possum is Brandon Bak (guitar, vocals), Tobin Hopwood (guitar), Patrick Lefler (bass) and Bradley Thibodeau (drums).Their previous album ‘Space Grade Assembly’ was an album filled with fuzz and Black Sabbath like tunes. I have been a fan of the band since I heard their debut album and I am really happy to show you their new album ‘Lunar Gardens’. On this album we have a completely new Possum, they reinvented their sound from heavy fuzz to really trippy cosmic psych with some space rock, trippy jazz and kraut and stuff like that. ‘Lunar Gardens’ is really trippy, original and most of all, a very fun listen.

FRANCE – Far Out West
A while ago I shared ‘Meltdown of Planet Earth’ by France in I was completely mesmerized by this records, I could not really find a lot about the band but I know I was hooked on their repetitive kraut and psych sound. The album was recorded in 2014 and released on the French Label Disastre and Standard In-Fi.
Now another album surfaces, a Live recording of one of their first gigs and now I learned this is a trio, a trio that is actually from France. Their live recording is one song called ‘Far Out Far West’ and is released on Mental Groove Records / Musique Pour La Danse.

We get an excerpt from the track ‘Unconscious Death Wishes’ wich is taken from the upcomiong album with the same title. The albulm will be released on Rocket Recordings. The track is less jazzy and more tribal space rock, it is really trippy and I am pleasantly surprised, this is even more my thing. Tune in now.
Landing / Headroom Split LP
Landing was formed in 1998 by married couple Aaron and Adrienne Snow. Their music is dreamy and gives a kind of rest, it sooths the soul.
Headroom started in 2016 by Kryssi Battalene of noise project Colorguard and the band Mountain Movers (wich ended on my 2018 end of the year list).
Together these two bands made a split EP and it is actually everyhting you could hope for. The soft, dreamy vibes from landing and the psychedelic tunes from Headroom.
But if I am honest it is the guitar from Headroom that really makes this LP special for me. How the screething guitar, the noise, fits soo perfectly in the calm and soothing music is beyond me. I can play this and just lay on the floor do nothing and absolutely love this piece of music.
Damaged Bug (John Dwyer) release Michael Yonkers cover album
John Dwyer from Oh Sees returns with his Damaged Bug project. His previous album “Bunker Funk” was from 2017 and now the psychedelic master is back wich is splendid news in these dark times. This time it is a cover album with covers from Michael Yonkers.
The album starts with the dreamy track ‘Goodbye Sunball’ but after that track John Dwyer gos a gear faster and the fuzz does not stop till the end. This is an excellent album, I have to admit I do not know a lot of music from Michael Yonkers so I started listening to both the cover album and the originals and it is just doubling the fun.

Listen to ‘III’ by Sloath on Riot Season Records
Sloath has released their album ‘III’ on June 19 on Riot Season Records and it is quite something. The album was made in 2014 and has aged since then waiting for a master to mix it and release it.
The album is filled with gorgeous riffs, a sludgy and doom atmosphere and some spacerock, you know, to make it even better. Their are a not a lot of vocals on this album and normally that is something that bothers me bot not on this album, this album has so much atmosphere that the sparcely used vocals only make it stronger. ‘III’ sounds like a fine aged wine.

Sloath share new track on Riot Season Records
Sloath will release their album ‘III’ on June 19 on Riot Season Records. The album was made in 2014 and has aged since then waiting for a master to mix it and release it. The mix of repetitive riffs, otherworldly sounds and heaviness makes Riot Season a perfect home for this. ‘Rewengue’ is the first shared track from this album and is a perfect track to start the album with.

FRANCE
‘Meltdown of Planet Earth’ was recorded in 2014 in France, Paris and now sees the light of day on vinyl through the French Label Disastre and Standard In-Fi. There are two tracks on this album each 29 minutes long but and they are absolutely brilliant, kraut and psych combined with shrieking guitar make this an extremely trippy album. I am kind of in awe of this band, I don’t know much about this and it just makes it more mystical and powerful. This is highly hypnotic quality music and it just fucks with my brain. Let your troubles go away and listen to France.

Tambourinen released Wooden Flower
Browsing through the internet I found this band called Tambourinen and lord, this instrumental band is absolutely gorgeous. Their music is hypnotic krautrock but it is so fuzzed out it still has a heavy feel to it. very trippy stuff. I recommend this to every psych fan. This is the side project by Grant Beyschau of The Myrrors

Damaged Bug (John Dwyer) shares cover
John Dwyer from Oh Sees returns with his Damaged Bug project. His previous album “Bunker Funk” was from 2017 and now the psychedelic master is back wich is splendid news in these shitty times (wash your hands!). This time he shares a cover from Michael Yonkers. The track “I Tried” and you know what, I do not know what you expected but the cover is a psychedelic wacko version that sounds like Mr. Yonkers on LSD.

Mexican band Sunset Images share new music
This is one of the first bands I shared on Fuzzy Sun when I started the website. This Mexican band creates extremely fuzzy psych combined with a wall of noise. The music is very dense and heavy and still evokes a dreamlike vibe in their music. Their previous album is called “Obscure Daze” and dates back to 2017. So I am verry happy to introduce you the new single by Sunset Images wich is called “Centro de la Ciudad”, a magnificent piece of psychedelic noise.
