Noiserock and heavy psychedelic music
The Swedish band Flowers Must Die has released some pretty great psych in the past. Their music is highly hypnotic and trippy. This is a compilation with lost tracks, alternative mixes, demo versions or longer versions of tracks that have been released. About 2 hours and 30 minutes music from 2008-2018. The compilation is called Återbruk (wich means recycled).

‘CHEF’ was the latest album by the Stockholm based cosmic musicians. Kungens Män really put down a magnificent piece of work with ‘CHEF’ and it is going to end in my end of the year list as well.
So what I did not expect was another Kungens Män record in 2019. So it makes me really happy to share with you the first track ‘Hårt Som Ben’ from the upcoming album with that same name. This will be released November 29 on Riot Season Records.
The new track is what you can expect from the band. Again a cosmic track with a highly hypnotic atmosphere. Listen now.

On the great Rocket Recordings surfaces a new band, a Swedish band by one of the members of Hills and Weary Nous. This will be released by Rocket Recordings and Danish Psych label Svensk Psych Aften.
The album is called ‘För Meditation’ and will be out April 19.
The first track ‘Stjärnor’ by Centrum is a meditative track filled with psychedelic guitar work.

The Stockholm band keeps amazing with their music. Time and time again they release cosmic music influenced by psych, noise and drone.
This time Kungens Män release their new album “CHEF” for the first time on Riot Season Records. Their previous album “Fuzz på svenska” ended up in my best of 2018 list. “Fuzz på svenska” had more Jazz influences while “CHEF” ends up on the rock/drone spectrum.
Kungens Män is most effective in bringing atmosphere, in creating a cosmic feeling to their music.

The all-girl 4-piece band MaidaVale, the video “Gold Mine” is a recording in the studeio of TapeTown.
In March the band released their album “Madness is too Pure”.
On their album they blend garage and psychedelic rock creating an interesting sound that gets you hooked real fast. full of energy and cosmic vibes MaidaVale is a band to watch out for.

Swedish band ‘Our Solar System’ make a return with new album ‘Origins’. Bringing to mind Can, early Floyd and even Sigur Rós, this is a voyage of sonic discovery that leads only they know where! They certainly have something in the water over there in Sweden at the moment, so many great bands making incredible music!

With a sound reminscent of the 70’s heavy psych bands, Blue Cheer & original Swedish psych kings the Hjärter Sex. SVVAMP 2 is straight-forward and direct. And it rocks. Hard. Höga Nord Rekords – one of the coolest record labels out there. They specialize in limited edition releases and run a succesful 7″ singles club. Eclectic and exciting, you never quite know what comes next from the Swedish label. That’s why their upcoming release has my interest straight away. A complilation album that includes The Limiñanas once again collabarating with Anton Newcombe, to acts like Woodleigh Research Facility, a project of legendary DJ & producer Andrew Weatherall & Nina Walsh. You know that this is going to be an album of great intrigue, from spooky electronic music to more traditional psych classics.
Due for release on August 20th, this is definitely one to get your hands on! As with most of the releases on Höga Nord Rekords, this will certainly sell out quickly. Available to pre-order here

The fifth full length release by Swedish band ‘Flowers Must Die – Där Blommer Dör ‘ sees the band taking a trip through their history. With some of the tracks being 10 years old, it sounds like a historical lesson about the band & their origins.
Released on the Rev/Vega Records, incidently the label of band member Rikard Daun. This album although newly relesed, feels like an end to a chapter in the bands path. The album however, is quite stunning in its differences betwen tracks. A definite album to listen to again & again!
My personal favourite track being Dööm, a 9 minute epic full of mystey and earthiness!
